I was at the Warp Christmas Party that year and saw Jeff and his team doing the visuals. They were walking among the crowd carrying wireless game cube controllers, controlling the visuals in real time.
It was an amazing event, Machinedrum played his first gig in the UK, there was a screening of a new Chris Morris short film, and the club had a swimming pool (it was Acquarium near Old Street station in Shoreditch).
I tried to have a quick word with Jeff but I don't think he could hear a word I said, I was fanboying about something prescient I thought he wrote in Commodore Computing International magazine around '85 or so.
My claim to fame is that there was a photo of the event in Edge magazine a month or two afterwards and I was in the photo, but with my backturned.
They even gave out a free CD of new Warp REcords tunes to people as they left the event.

One of my favourite club nights.
