Later, however, other replies from the same customer service department stated the opposite: the Neo Geo AES+ was not affected, and the message was actually referring to the Spectrum.
At no point did Plaion issue an official statement—neither to announce a possible delay to the Spectrum nor to publicly clarify the situation surrounding the Neo Geo AES+. Everything was handled through individual and sometimes contradictory private replies.
Under those circumstances, it was only natural for Twitter users to share the information they had received. This was not a matter of being influenced by some random Twitter user. Since Plaion was apparently unable to publish an official statement to clear up the confusion, the people who received these emails were inevitably the ones who had to make the information public and try to work out what had actually happened.
