Screwball Scramble Browser

Screwball Scramble, Tomy's classic 1979 children's toy about guiding a steel ball through a series of obstacles as fast as possible, has been successfully recreated as an in-browser game available online for free (as spotted by Free Game Planet & WhyNowGaming!).

The free fan game is the work of the Redditor Captainepeper, who posted about the finished project last week on the social media site. It faithfully replicates the classic toy that we all know and love from our childhood, featuring a playable model of the game's colourful board, complete with ramps, rails, and mazes to rotate.

If you're wondering how to control it, Captainepeper has transferred the buttons from the toy over to a UI available near the bottom of the screen, which allows you to interact with the board while still being able to turn the camera to get a better look at what's ahead.

We've had a go and it's just as difficult as we remember, but a fun distraction nonetheless if you want to dive headfirst into your nostalgia and put your skills to the test.

If you want to give it a try, you'll find it here. You probably better act fast though, before Tomy catches wind of things.
