The Switch before there was a Switch; sure you needed the console and the portable (and it was expensive) but playing the game on the TV then on the go is sweet.
My favorite I owned was probably the Lynx. I've had a ton but that one holds a place that no others will fill.
I have a 351V and it's nifty enough but they're just not supported very well imo.
I'd say a good controller/android phone setup would be more ideal. At least with the 351V it takes a lot of work if you can even get some stuff running at all with all the oddball things you have to do.
This thing looks pretty sweet really. Not big on 'curated' carts though.
I'd like to see someone do a full arcade one if that's even possible. Games from 80's to stuff like Ridge Racer.
I know the licensing is probably impossible. I'd love to have GI Joe arcade but I guess Mame with it's issues will have to do forever. Sad that game has been lost down the memory hole.
snes version was also badly coded to the point of being basically unplayable.
mk2 rectified this all but that first game was a mess imo. i got the sega cart because of it but we also had the snes cart. sega definitely had worse visuals/sound but had gore and played much better.

Re: Poll: Should Retro Game Remasters Carry Warnings About "Offensive" Content?
@Steel76
Those people weren't alive or at least old enough to play games back then.
This isn't for the 80's or 90's kids. This is for the kids from the 2000's on.
Re: Poll: What's The Best Handheld Of All Time?
I voted TurboExpress.

Re: Hardware: Anbernic RG552 - A Big-Screen Upgrade To The Popular RG351
@Zuljaras
Yeah; I have a 351V and it's nifty but real limited and a pain to get anything running other than the 8-16 bit stuff (sega cd not included).
Steam Deck looks like the emulation station to beat.

Re: Street Fighter II On The NES Looks Better Than You Might Expect
The gameboy version of Killer Instinct wasn't at all unplayable and surprising they got it to run so well IMO.
I already thought there was a NES street fighter game? I remember mighty final fight came out late.
Re: Hands On: Anbernic's RG300X Is A Beefed-Up Game Boy Micro That Runs Emulators
@AK9
I have a copy of minish cap I never finished. Need to get on that.

@BloodNinja
Yep I just got a 351v a couple of weeks ago and after flashing decent firmware on it it's pretty solid little system.
Playing through the GB Color Zelda games right now but have loaded it with quite a few things. Still need to work on it but yeah; slick little device.
Re: Hardware Review: Game Gear Micro - Go Home Sega, You're Drunk
An actual GameGear mini would be kinda neat.
Heck; I'd love to get a Lynx mini. Something maybe the size of an iphone or something with all the Lynx games.
Would be insta-buy for me.
Re: 10 Years Ago, Tech Giant Panasonic Almost Took On The Nintendo 3DS
Heh never heard of this one.
I'm still mad they canned the M2 though.
Re: Pre-Orders Go Live For The Evercade Retro Handheld System
Looks interesting enough.
I'm more interested in hacking up a vita personally. If I can find the right model/firmware for the right price.

once mk2 came out it was snes all the way.
Re: Hardware Classics: Unpacking The 32X, Sega's Most Catastrophic Console Failure
@Blister
really?
i remember it but only had up to a sega cd. i did get a 3DO and a buddy of mine had the tg16 stuff with a jaguar/jaguar cd.
man those were the days. now gaming is just so boring. here's clone pc, have fun! bleh.
Re: Hardware Review: Terraonion Super SD System 3 Unlocks The Entire PC Engine Library
that's pretty sweet.
i use an emulator for these but remember a friend with a tg16 + cd, a turbo duo, and the system cards/games.
that thing was pretty great. lords of thunder and gate of thunder were great fun.
