@_Ex_ Regardless of your opinion and Sony's opinion, my point is that you were using making a successor as some kind of measuring stick.
And like I said, I doubt anyone would consider the Game.com or Nokia N-Gage a success, and they both got successors, proving that having a successor is not necessarily proof of something being considered successful.
Which then brings me to my other point, that people are using "I like it" "I had one" "none of my friends had it" "it was good for hacking" "there was a few good games for it" as some kind of reason that it sold well.
Which again, you could consider it small talk, but reading the comments as a whole, it does seem like people are using their own experiences as a measuring stick on if a console was considered successful or not.
@_Ex_ I'm not arguing that Sony didn't consider the PSP a success, after all, that is their personal opinion. But your saying it was a success because they made a sequel console.
I'm not suggesting they made the Vita thinking it would fail, but the point is, your using making a sequel as some sort of measuring stick for success.
So... The PSP sold well in Sony's opinion, and that's why they made a sequel, but that's their opinion. Their opinion and them making a sequel is not proof of it being a success.
The question is, what is considered a success, and again, Sony considering it to be a success and Sony making a sequel console isn't proof that it was a success.
@_Ex_ Terrible argument. "PSP wasn't a failure because they made a sequel" That neither proves it was or wasn't a failure. Case in point, the Game.com and N-Gage got sequel revisions.
But seriously, what is considered a failure? Is it total sales figures, do you have to factor in the support life? Is it compared to the condition?
I don't know, but a lot of people seem to be losing track of the debate. People saying things like, I had it, It was handy when it was hacked, it had a few good games etc, you could class this people making small talk but the rest of the comment seems to be in the same vain.
In other words, everyone is just basing it on their opinion and personal experiences which isn't really a debate on it being a successor or not.
@RadioHedgeFund If you want to go down that route, then you could say that the Game Gear, Wonderswan and Neo Geo Pocket did the whole horizontal shape and screen thing before Sony.
But in all seriousness, it was just part of progress, screens were gonna get wider rather then taller for practical purposes.
And that has to still be the worst I'm a 7 year old fanboy esque argument, even if it was true.
The vehicles, to travel around the level, aren't a new thing. There was a Plane and a Car which I remember, but also a 'flying bathtub' apparently. Granted there was no Bumper Cars, but the car sounds pretty much the same in how it works.
You used to get them from bopping the giant blocks if I remember ...
Anyway, on another note, that trailer is coming up as being 10 seconds long. Is this the same for everyone else too?
If so, then it's officially-unofficially, the worst trailer since Earthworm Jim 4 on the Amico, the console which is still yet to be released publicly...
And if your not familiar, it's like a 10 or 29 second clip of Jim, on a beach, walking left to right.
As for this new James Pond game, they need to probably drum up a bit of interest and re-release the old games first,. before shipping this new one out.
Give us one with all 3 games, in one package, and a choice styles, music and layouts.
If I recall, some of the 16 bit porte had slightly different layouts, and the ones released on the 32 bit consoles and beyond, have different music and sound effects.
The later ones ruin the nostalgia for me, little things like the stretching sound, it's no long a "brrrrrrrr" it's some kind lof squeeky sound.
Also, that music... meh, I know it's just nitpicking, but whats with those "Hey!" shouts? Reminds me of some.of stereotypical Russian Cossack sounding dance.
I would also suggest that they re-do a advertising deal with McVities for the Penguin bars, although if you've noticed, McVities anr other brands have greatly shrunk their biccies.
But what would a White Chocolate Penguin taste like? And do they still do Orange Penguin bars.
Yep, I apologise for wasting your time on these slightly pointless mundane musings.
@Mario500 It seems like you have made several suggestions on this website about profanity, and doing it once is a feedback, and more than once is preachiness.
Unless this article is attacking your private space, your private life and causing you harm, you have no moral right to tell others what to do.
Suggestion noticed, suggestion rejected.
Unless your comment is related to the subject matter, then you are being rude. I'm sure all versions of "The Bibilos" preach about rudeness and poor manners too.
@no_donatello I wouldn't really call it aggressive. It's a full page advert with a comparison chart with answers which are written far too long and hold very little weight.
It's the complete opposite of the major attitude of the 90's. The 90's was supposed to be simple, straight to the point and in your face.
The answer to "Does Sony have any consoles?" should be a resounding "No!'
It's like the "akchully " meme of its day.
This is the same Sega which had adverts about 'blast processing" and innuendo's about comparing a Master System arcade stick to tugging one off in the adult based Viz comic.

Re: Anbernic's New Firmware Has Opened A Can Of Worms That Could Damage The Handheld Emulation Market
Yes, it will affect the market, but I guess the solution is for people to be taught how to do stuff themselves, so maybe its a good thing?
If your mates "Dodgy Box" ain't working, then teach them how to use torrents.
With something like Qbittorrent these days, most of the hard work has been taken out.
Re: Streets Of Rage Composer Is "Disappointed" More People Aren't Aware Of His Work
Can we confirm that the Stage 4 track on the 2nd game was influenced by Move Any Mountain by The Shamen???
Re: Punch-Out!!'s Characters Aren't To Blame For The Series's Hiatus After All
This rumour could easily be quashed by looking for any mentions of the game in the media.
I don't recall anything at the time.
Someone's trying to pass off a "Punch-Out is blacklisted cause it weren't bluddeh woke enough" rumour.
Re: "Only Zombies Buy Physical Games" Says Digital Code Retailer CDKeys
If I buy a game and the consoles online store shuts down down about 15 years later or so, I am happy to buy it again.
I've got my value out of it and I don't need to penny pinch any more out of it.
When the consoles online store shuts down, it's likely because their old console is being discontinued and a new one is coming out to replace it.
So I don't need to desperately get a physical copy at all.
Most of the worries people put forward are highly exaggerated.
