I really don't understand this desire to USB-Cify everything. It was only in the past year or so that decent charging hubs with more than like 2 USB-C ports even became available (I have one with 5 C and 5 A ports powering my stuff in my gaming setup, sadly it stopped working with my Switch 2 for some reason even though it worked just fine with it at first).
A lot of these projects that rely on certain models of USB-C chargers and won't work with just any off the shelf charger. This is because 12v is not a required part of the USB PD standard, but 15v is. 12v is an optional voltage that they can support if the manufacturer wants to. If someone was serious about making one of these they would use a 15v trigger and then a stepdown converter to 12v, but too many of them are either doing the 12v only option or 15v and just letting the console deal with the extra current internally.
Not having an easy user friendly way to add more games is a bit disappointing. Would love to relive some old school light gun games and so far this appears to be the one of the better options (the Polymega is a hard pass from me as it seems overpriced and underpowered compared to what you could do with PC based emulation) so maybe the G'AIM'E 2.0 or something will deliver.
