I think that Beautiful Katamari was a 360 exclusive? I think that was probably the best entry in the whole series. I also want to mention El Shaddai: Ascension Of The Metatron, which blew me away, but I don't think it was exclusive.
Both Crash and Zzap!64 really stood out on news stands thanks to his bold and dynamic style. They really were magnificent covers. Very sad news. Rest in peace.
@electrolite77 Honest question here, but... is there any way to do this legally? To buy them somehow? They need to open some kind of a shop, maybe? I know that trawling eBay is an option, but it would be great if there was a "ROM shop"... although I guess that there would be myriad issues preventing that.
I think that there are a few "defining" titles missing here... Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder, Eye Of The Beholder, Hired Guns, Flashback, The Secret Of Monkey Island 2, Arabian Nights, Fire and Ice, Ruff 'n' Tumble, Bubba 'n' Stix... actually, that list could go on and on, come to think of it!!! I guess that licensing issues and available space come into play in the end.
I love my Evercade, and am looking forward to the Bitmap Brothers collection, but why oh why did they not use the Amiga versions? Same for several of the games on the Codemasters collection. Any insights on this, please, @Damo?
@Funneefox Ah, I see. Thank you very much for the reply. Maybe one day I will get to play it again. But, otherwise, yeah... this game doesn't look bad either!
There was talk of a home console version of the Evercade, so this could be that. Would be way too early to replace the existing handheld... they'd be faced with many angry customers.
As can be imagined... I love this! 😆 But it is pricey for something that can't be (sensibly) played. Although... having it on my desk with the attract sequence running would be amazing in itself!!! 😆
@Damo
I was wary of the reboot, to be honest. Maybe unfairly so! I will most likely just content myself with Crackdown for now. And I am about to receive an Evercade with Xeno Crisis! 😆 I am hoping that will scratch the itch too. Am also wishing for a Midway / Williams collection on the Evercade too, so that we can have Robotron and Smash TV. 😊
EDIT: Quartet 2 sounds interesting, then! Does it have the same music? I loved the music of the original in the arcades.
@Damo Thanks for the info, that is very thoughtful of you. It is surely a shame that it isn't more easily available! Maybe there isn't such a great fondness for it? I often feel the same way about Quartet... Sega often seem to forget about that one... although I can see that the sequel is present here.
Am tempted, mainly to have Crackdown and Alien Syndrome in one place. I don't believe that Alien Syndrome is currently available on the Switch, and I absolutely adore it. I was gutted that it wasn't on the Sega Classics compilation that is available on the Switch.
People may laugh at me for this... but I hold a deep love for the CD32. If this ever supports the CD32, I will consider it. But I doubt if that is likely to happen?
I am rather sad that Fantasy World Dizzy and Magicland Dizzy are not on here. They were both fantastic. Some of these look like "new" entries in the series. Not all 8 bit as the box claims! I am still interested, though!
It's a bit of a gamble, because we currently have no way of knowing which other companies will get on board, or how many new cartridges will be released going ahead... but I am so tempted to pre-order this. I just love the idea of it, and there's already some great games on it. I wonder what the nine carts are exactly, though... I will have to check the website. I am strangely excited by this project.
Ocean had some really amazing game covers... I never realised that just one gentleman was responsible for so many of them. I simply adored the artwork for Rainbow Islands... I still remember seeing the C64 box for the first time. It really stood out on the shop shelves.

Re: Poll: What Is Rare's Best Game?
1 - Knight Lore
2 - The Staff Of Karnath
3 - Sabre...
What? Stop? Why?
Oh.

Wait... is that the Exile? Flying around caves with a jetpack? I never did complete it on the C64. Would love to play it again!
