I strongly suspect that the "sprite" is also AI generated as it looks like nothing that could possibly have been in any 16 bit game let alone a James Pond game...maybe a background element in Aquatic games at best. Then the "2025" one looks more like something from the Boys Club comics...

If Chris is seeing any of the comments here then if anything I'm sorry that it all came to this really and it sucks that this and the 2013 kickstarter has made him distance himself from the James Pond concept, but I'm glad he's managed to speak up about the AI slop. It's a shame as the original games (and amiga in general) were one of the ways I bonded with my fiancé through fanart and such and I'd hate this AI direction to dampen how I feel about that kind of thing.
