Capcom lit up Monday morning with delightful artwork that sees the studio's past crossover with its future. The adorable daubings show Super Fighting Robot Mega Man teaming up with Super Hacking Robot Diana, the star of this year's smash hit Pragmata.

The new artwork was released to promote an upcoming range of trinkets on the Capcom store, featuring the two blue battlers in a variety of action poses. The crossover itself references an ongoing joke where, during Pragmata's (very) lengthy development, conspiracies circulated that it was actually a secret Mega Man game, given Pragmata's high-tech, futuristic setting and its co-protagonist Diana - an android sporting a jacket with bulbous, arm-cannon-like sleeves and a distinctly familiar shade of blue.

Of course, this turned out not to be the case (that we know of), but it was still a fun conspiracy, and Capcom is clearly enjoying leaning into the uncanny similarities between the two series' pint-sized heroes.

Pragmata would finally release in April of this year to high praise from both critics and players - the latest in a string of hit titles from the veteran studio. Just recently, Capcom released free costume DLC, dressing up Diana and her pal Hugh as Mega Man and his pal Roll - a fun, albeit visually unnerving concept.

This year, Mega Man had to settle for re-releases in the form of theMega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, a compilation of seven titles from the series' Nintendo DS era. Fortunately, the Blue Bomber will make his grand return in spring 2027 with the arrival of Mega Man: Dual Override, the newest mainline entry in the Mega Man series since 2018. Will Diana make a cameo appearance? Probably not.

...But it would be cool, Capcom.
