@dmcc0 Easily the best Simpsons game ever. I just wish Disney would come to their senses and give us a remake/remaster.

So the retrofest continues. I have been wanting to play a Mega Man game lately so tonight after I downloaded the Mario Kart 8 booster pack, I noticed that I had both Mega Man Legacy Collections on Switch so I fired up Mega Man 2. I ended up doing a playthorugh of it and beating it. The only level that gave me a problem was Quickman's level of course. Other then that it wasn't too hard. Still an enjoyable game as always.

I think Mega Man 2 is one of those games that's just fun, pure and simple. It's easily my favorite to come back to in the series when I just want to have an enjoyable afternoon.

@Guitar_bard Yeah there's just something about Mega Man 2 it's just fires on all cylinders. My personal favorite is 3 but I can see why 2 is held in such high regard.

Ok, it's time for me to beat the first Super Mario Bros.

I was almost over last year when I reached the 8th area, but I didn't have enough patience to finish it. My save is still there (I'm playing the SNES version in the Super Mario All-Stars collection), but I will probably start a new one just to train a bit before attempting again.

@andreverts Have fun!! It's still a fantastic game all of these years later.

@Guitar_bard totally agree, this genre aged very well. You won't think a game like that has 30 years!!

I'm working on my way to the 8th area refreshing my skills from scratch. I wonder how good you should get to be able to do it on NES without saving! I'd really prefer to play the original one (I like that style more than the SNES remake), but right now it's impossibile to me!

How's Crystalis going so far?

Guitar_bard

@andreverts On the NES, it was tough! Or, you went through the Warp zones and got to 8-1 as quickly as possible.

Crystalis is awesome, but I'm stuck! I can't figure out where to go after finding out the villagers of Leaf have disappeared! I just can't figure it out.

@Guitar_bard yeah that's probably the best strategy to beat the NES version, but I should figure out where are the portals! I'll try maybe later when I'll complete the SNES version passing through all the levels.

As for Crystalis, I don't remember that part because I did it too much time ago, but the solutions always came to me by speaking with all the npcs!

I'm currently playing through the games in the Capcom Fighting Collections (more on those in a few days hopefully) but I'm just popping in here to say that I don't think I've ever seen as much pure, arcade mode final boss BS than with G.O.D in Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness. Disgustingly large anti-air projectiles, a grab as comically long as Melee Marth's and, if that wasn't bad enough, the ability to CLONE THEMSELF...... WITHOUT METER.

**** 'em. Just absolutely **** 'em.

Currently MIA for exams; see you all in a bit! o7

I fancied playing some Sega Rally on the Saturn but I couldn't be bothered to get it out knowing it probably wouldn't work unless I suspended the console upside down or in some other ridiculous orientation (don't have the space for it)

So I bought Daytona off the 360 marketplace to play on my Series X instead. Shame that Sega Rally isn't available

Looks beautiful on the Series X, really crisp and vibrant colours. Only thing that jarred me was the sky/clouds which jittered when you turned the car, not great as I woke up with a headache this morning.

Also I'm completely rubbish at it 😂. Didn't even get close on the easy or intermediate tracks. The only one I even came close to finishing was advanced.

Might have another go on it in a bit or I might pop my Ridge Racer PS1 disc into my PS3 and see how that fairs

See ya!

Hey all - new here. My current playthrough is the arcade based version of Parodius on the Anbernic RG552. I have the SNES cart still but the arcade version has unlimited retries!

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

Ah man. Parodius on SNES is a really great game! Glad to see someone mention it here.

Been playing some Dreamcast games as of late - Powerstone 2, Incoming, Ferrari F355 Challenge, MSR, Iron Aces and Toy Commander. Also couldn’t resist some Outrun 2006 and 4x4 Evo on PS2. It’s been a good couple of weeks on retro games for me.

@exit It is - I am normally terrible at side scrolling shooters (I still am) but the music and enemy design is just so much fun.

I've been playing Body Harvest on N64 which is an absolute banger of a game. Forget how tricky it was to begin with though.

Just finished Bioshock Infinite on the Switch, along with the Burial at Sea DLC. Yesterday I started Warioland: The Shake Dimension on Wii. Quite how that one has passed me by for the last 13 years I’ve no idea, it’s great!

I just started playing Wario Land 4 on the GBA and Ninja Gaiden Shadow for the GB. I had never played either before, and they're both pretty great.
