For me, the SNES. Loved the NES and all that beforehand and all that has come after, but the SNES gave me my first ever launch day console purchase, my first foray in to importing games, my first gaming magazine (Super Play), the first time I had cash to enjoy buying more than one game a month, my first ever imported console, a fair bit of kudos at school to say I was the uber geek (not as good a thing Back In The Dayâ„¢, looking back) and a ridiculous amount of other things, on top of the fact that there are a frankly silly amount of good games for the machine, a lot of which still shine nowadays as the classics they are, or in various other gaming halls such as speedrunning. I do enjoy seeing all those games I grew up with being disassembled in the most beautiful ways as an adult, by the speedrunning community. So yeah. The SNES.
Bloody love Shadowrun on the SNES. Didn't like the fact my PAL copy wouldn't hold its save files when playing it on my USA SNES though 😂 was also pleasantly surprised by the cheat code thing that surfaced a while back, involving standing under a lamppost and pressing a button combo. Where was THAT when I needed it as a teenager????😂
Played the arcade version to death as a teenager during my college years. Didn't really play it during the PS1 era as I was all Nintendo, with my import USA SNES and N64, and my friends who had a PS1 hadn't bought it. When I finally played the PS version I didn't like it at first 😅 but grew to love it over time. The 60fps Hi Spec version that came with RR Type 4 was nice and shiny though.
Loved this game. I'll probably never forget the moment where the music fades off, as a hulking great big areoplane comes crashing head on toward you on one of the tracks. Pretty sure I almost soiled myself first time it happened.
Oooh. Looks like this might appeal to an old bugger like me who spent far too much of his paper round while at school money/part time job while at college money on import SNES games as a kid 😂

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 5th)
Bit of Link To The Past, bit of Bubble Bobble on the NES and some Hotline Miami for me here.
Re: Best PS2 Games
"Hello Kitty : Roller Rescue" was amazing. Also, "The Red Star."
Re: We Can't Get Enough Of These Incredible Metal Slug Mini-Figures
I think we need a new Metal Slug with graphics that look exactly like these figures. Or even the old games remastered to look like these figures.

Skybilz' Super Mario All Stars & World Shuffler run was a ton of fun

Re: Best SNES Games
My only issue with this article is that it's only two pages long! 😂

Re: Channel 4's GamesMaster Reboot Has Found Its Presenter
Rab is an excellent choice. His Eurogamer piece, "Lost Humanity 18 : A Table Of Doritos," from 2012 still astounds me when I revisit it.

Pity the D-pad is utter mince otherwise I may have been a bit interested.
