The Satiator has been available for several years and loads disc images from SD card while preserving the original disc drive as well. It just plugs directly into the MPEG decoder card slot, and doesn't require opening the Saturn's case at all. The only advantages I see to this mod are to enable people who already own an ODE to play from disc, and for the very few people who have the MPEG decoder card, an ODE, and want to play one of the few games that takes advantage of hardware decoding.
VGA is RGB already, at twice the resolution. Why would anyone prefer 240p over 480p? Unless your TV/monitor does not support a 31kHz horizontal scan rate, VGA is superior in every way.
