Hmm, I'm a bit confused about what this is - am I right in thinking from the trailer that it features new music tracks instead of the original Gameboy tracks, but is otherwise just a straight port of the GBC release? The music sounds awesome, but it still seems Gameboy-ish to me, so is this modern chiptune composers coming up with better stuff than the original game had or something else?
Happy to see more R-type, but the Gameboy games are pretty redundant when the proper arcade versions are available on the eshop. These games are awesome on original hardware, and were mind blowing to me as a child, but outside of the cool new music I'd have a hard time justifying the purchase, especially with R-Type Delta coming out soon too.
Not sure why, but I thought 'final 3' would also be an update to the current gen versions of final 2. But looks like my lowly switch version will stay as final 2 forever! Compared to other horizontal shooters on switch, the game is frustrating and slow anyway, I doubt 'final 3' will fix the fundamental issues I had with the game design!
