Re: "Retrobrighting" Might Actually Cause More Harm Than Good To Your Yellowing Consoles

N-MCMXCIX

@Sketcz Actually: Some do unyellow paper. Not thousand-year old manuscripts, but newspapers, posters, and books in need of rebinding I've seen. As for guns, sometimes they do clean them, especially if the idea is to fire them. Airplanes get restored, ancient artifacts merely conserved, it all depends on the intended use case. People attempt to restore or mod consoles for the sake of using them, just as people restore cars to drive them. Perhaps it's better to have it look and run right than be unaltered. Fortunately, we're getting closer to the point where retrobright won't be as necessary. Just as cars have aftermarket panels available, more and more consoles are receiving aftermarket shells of good quality.

Re: Have You Checked On Your Wii U GamePad Battery Recently?

N-MCMXCIX

@HammerGalladeBro iFixit sells replacement batteries for the GamePad, ones said to run longer than the stock one. I installed one in mine almost a year ago, perfect fit, works good. I guarantee the battery will not explode on you, unlike some of those dodgy no-name Chinese batteries.

Re: Namco's 'Ridge Racer' Is Coming To Nintendo Switch 2 At Launch

N-MCMXCIX

"...the first time a Ridge Racer game has appeared on a Nintendo console since 2011's Ridge Racer 3D"? What about Ridge Racer 64 added to Nintendo Switch Online at the end of this past January? But in all seriousness, now we HAVE to have Tekken 1-3 on Switch! No more excuses! Give them to me through Arcade Archives! Of course, there is the question of how new a game we can expect. Can we see F-Zero AX? Mario Kart Arcade GP? Castlevania: The Arcade? What's the limit?

Re: Rare Co-Founder Shows Conker 64, Fans Immediately Beg Him To Dump It

They could have released it as a prequel. And maybe it still can. What's stopping this from finally seeing the light of day as part of Rare Replay and Nintendo Switch Online? If Star Fox 2 can see a release many years after cancelation, why not this? True, it might need some debugging, and some box art will need to be made, but otherwise, why not?
