This is all hypothesizing that will never be able to be tested, but I feel the Dreamcast could have had a chance at life had they released a revised model that was able to read DVD disk and have movie playback. Games would still be the old fashioned GDRoms, but being able to compete against the PS2 on the DVD playback feature would had moved some units.

Would still have been #2, but potentially done better than the Game Cube, maybe enough to survive as a hardware manufacturer.
