Developer Neo Retro, in association with promoter Outernet Venue, has announced a party to celebrate the launch of the reimagined hardware, Vectrex Mini, ahead of its "late 2026" release. The event will take place at London venue The Lower Third on Saturday, November 21.

Kicking off at 10:00 A.M., the launch party will feature a gallery of Vectrex Mini test units, along with a showcase of developers making games for the platform. A presentation on "The Past, Present & Future of Vectrex" will be hosted by project lead David Oghia. Complimentary drinks and goody bags are available for attendees, and live music will be provided by Serbian techno DJ Remute - who famously once released an album on a SNES cartridge.

The Vectrex Mini, developed by French emulation enthusiasts Neo Retro, replicates MB's "all-in-one" console, first released in 1982. The cartridge-based system used wireframe vector visuals and a built-in CRT monitor to recreate familiar games from its arcade and home computer brethren - with its own distinct variants of Asteroids, Pac-Man, and Berzerk, among others.

Famously a hefty beast to lug around, the Vectrex Mini replicates the original console in diminutive form, taking advantage of modern technological advances (such as Bluetooth connectivity) to optimise the controllers, monitor, and internal hardware. Recently, the developers had to announce that the previously planned OLED screen was no longer viable, frustrating some purchasers.

Crowdfunded on Kickstarter in mere minutes, the Vectrex Mini features 14 built-in games and has SD Card support for further titles. Pre-orders have closed, but the console will be available for sale following its launch later this year.

Vectrex Mini Launch Party tickets are available now from DICE, priced at £15. The Lower Third is an 18+ only venue.
