The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening – which turned 30 recently – is now playable in Gaeilge (that's Irish, in case you were wondering) thanks to the efforts of romhacker Bípbúp.

The patch – which is designed for Link's Awakening DX, the 1998 update of the title for the Game Boy Color – turns the adventure into 'Finscéal Zelda: Múscailt Link'.

"Link’s Awakening is one of the essential Zelda adventures, for any fan," says Bípbúp. "An incredible effort was made in trying to have the Irish as accurate as possible, having used the essentials: foclóir.ie and teanglann.ie, but also the grammar checker on cadhan.com. However, if any mistakes are found, please don’t hesitate to send a message, high quality translation is very important!"

You can download the patch here.
