Re: Random: AI Taking Game Industry Jobs Is OK Because Of Pac-Man, Says The New York Times

Game developers haven't even used Generative AI as game opponents because of 3 things: it's too unpredictable, it's too expensive computationally which which would cause games to perform badly and not in realtime, it doesn't taste a fun experience to play in a game. Most of these game industry job layoffs are from content generation tools. Where AI generates a 3D object, picture etc. although half the time it still needs to be touched up by a human to get rid of the goofiness. Like 6 finger people, 3rd arms etc. Honestly it creates more work than it helps. But it does ease creative roadblocks people get by not being imaginative enough and creating options for clients. People get burnt out, AI doesn't. But it's a tool to help people not replace them. These CEO's just using AI as an excuse to hide the real ugly truth.
