I believe you're a little confused. The seller isn't the only person involved, nor is that person the only source.
This "pity money" you're on about, is to cover legal fee's which our museum would be paying direct to the lawyers involved, meaning this is not pity money, also the community voted to do that. It wasn't the sellers choice.
The seller has also publicly stated when he gets the carts back, they would be donated at no further cost, and he would reimburse donators.
Show's you haven't read it all, so maybe please go back and read all the information posted here, the PT/OG Discord along with the Prototopia forums.
If you weren't so quick to typing, and done your research, you would clearly see the warrant is posted online, and pinned on Discord, showing SEGA had consent to raid the seller, among other details that haven't been disclosed yet.
Under UK law, that's illegal. A private entity does not have powers to raid homes, and yet the court has given them consent and now is refusing to reply, same as SEGA who have ignored timeextension, and theverge among others.
To clarify, the seller has reached out with a new offer today, and we're hoping to talk later tonight.
This info was already public prior to us attempting to save, which made things more complex.
I don't blame the seller for wanting more, but it will require a major community effort to get this preserved.
We're in talks with other preservation groups who will attempt to help raise any funds. More will be shared on our X as we find out. (Or via the OG Discord)
@ TX, i've used our company email to prove this is a legitimate account.
