That tweet or X or whatever has 5 likes and a bunch of people dunking on him.
Decompilation is a lot of mindless, tedious work.
Speaking of X, if you had to draw the letter X on a piece of paper 500,000 times or have your computer do it in five seconds, you're all telling me you'd draw the X just for the sake of virtue signalling?
People don't understand that a very good chunk of software engineering was combing through Stack Overflow until your eyes started to water. There's a reason why the traffic has plummeted on that site. People who see AI and call it slop and say a human could have done it better are completely talking out of their ass.
There are some serious ethical, economical and environmental concerns regarding AI that need to be addressed. It will also do a lot of good- and I'm going to file helping game preservation and revitalizing the VR scene under that label.
People need to stop looking at everything in black and white. Nothing is ever that simple.
@Sketcz Yes. When it comes to theocracies, this is as good as it gets.
This is the most progressive regime they've ever had- by far.
Why, just recently, he put it to law that not only can women leave the house unsupervised, he's even allowing them to get behind the wheel of a car!
Yes, that is the bar : women being able to head over to the DMV without their man walking them there like a dog and getting themselves a learner's permit.
Progress doesn't happen overnight; no country has ever just got up one day and decided to morph into a modern utopia. Well... except maybe Japan after WW2. But we all know why that was.
What happened to the reporter is heartbreaking and should be fully condemned. But, unfortunately, the world is a complicated place. These countries have operated a certain way for centuries.
Get over it already! Jeez. Probably removed years of monotony from the project. You people want to take a real strong stance? Learn to decompile it yourself and release your work for free.
Technology always displaces jobs. It sucks, I agree. Does that mean we should throw out our sewing machines and start riding horses to work too?
@jojobar Wish you were right, but I am fairly certain you are not.
There is no shortage of poor people willing to train it for next to nothing. It also actively trains itself- it gets smarter by the second.
The jump in quality for generated video content over just the last 6 months has shocked even me. We're one or two iterations away from it being virtually indistinguishable from reality.
...and to think that companies aren't salivating to exponentially widen the wealth gap and keep the rest of us fighting for their scraps...? edit I'm sorry, "Create a utopia where we only work 2-3 days a week and live happily ever after?" 😂
This is effing amazing. The CPU-A variant is failing in almost all of these systems. This is going to bring a ton of black screening SNES back to life.

@ChromaticDracula 100%- came to say the same thing.
Unfortunately, it's LRG and they've lost the benefit of the doubt though nobody's fault but their own.
I mean, seriously... they couldn't even wipe the recycled chips off with some IPA? 😂
