The developer was active on Reddit about a year ago, when Drastic initially went free. He stated that the decision was NOT due to Nintendo and that we was making it open source iirc. The developer also made sure to point out that he would be removing Drastic from the Playstore eventually, so this was probably the day he initially had planned for its removal
