Re: Atari's New Console Seems To Be Part NES Classic Mini, Part Ouya

@Highlar You didn't have to get worked up on this. I said many would forsake gaming, not all. I do know there are gamers even at late 70. And eventually I will probably be one of them. Like you I have no intention to stop gaming, the girl I will probably marry (talking about 5 years relationship, not some random crush) while not a hardcore gamer, likes it and understand how important it is to me, we will probably pass on gaming for our children likewise. And so on and so on... But let's be honest, it IS an isolated hobby. Don't have to be 40, many people at my age already forsake gaming for women, work, children or whatever lifts their skirts. It doesn't mean we will stop existing at later age, I just meant the years decrease our numbers.

@Curlynob You are right. My math was really off. Anyway, I stand by my point that while older gamers exist, they are the lesser number in sales for a product aimed to them to be considered a success, I know that if they don't want to be as big as the other consoles, with crowdfunding and all they can achieve a good profit with lesser expectations, but nonetheless, they won't be the fourth player in the "console wars".

I cannot see this appealing for the younger audience, because well, atari games don't catch so much attention nowadays. I cannot see this appealing for the not so old audience, as people who didn't grow up before the NES era might not care at all for atari anyway (myself included as I am 25). I can only see this appealing for a really older audience, like 35+, or obviously for the collectors that would collect it anyway being good or bad. I know 35 is not really old, but for gamers is way less common as many of us will stop gaming when start working or having children. And of course, gaming is not that old yet, so naturally most people way older, like 50+ didn't actually grow up with it, just embraced it at later age.
