Yeah this device fell flat in the SBC community. For much less you can get the retroid pocket 2+ and for a bit more you can invest in the Odin handheld.
If you need a retro handheld right away get an anbernic 351mp.
@mikegamer I can't speak for all of them but the anbernic rg351mp absolutely does. Custom firmware is what really carries this device. Anbernic makes really well build emulation devices but the community really knows how to get the most out of their product. I used to build emulation stations with raspberry pi and honestly these little devices make the whole process 10x easier.
I use 351elec and honestly I'm playing games at full speed with only slight chugs once I hit ps1. I also was able to port games like shovel knight and cave story to it. Honestly these little devices have come a long way!
@HXLXIII I agree, but not everyone is going to do exactly what we did. I have my GBC carts but I never had an advance growing up. Also I personally don't find the value in a $200 device that only plays cartridges when I could just dump everything onto an rg351mp for 150
The Miyoo Mini or any of the anbernic devices you get way more bang for your buck. If you want an emulation device at a decent price you could easily pick one up for roughly 60-150 USD. The Analogue Pocket is great if you have cartridges around but tbh most of those games we grew up with and there's a good chance that we adults dont have them anymore or never had them to begin with.
I was looking forward to this until all the delays and lack of pre-orders were available. With systems like the RG351mp I couldn't justify picking this one up.
@Gwynbleidd Honestly these consoles influenced me to buy a fight stick so I could play these games on my other consoles. I agree there is virtually no value in these "mini" consoles.
The SNES mini has a wide variety of different/unique games at $79.99 with an actual mini console. I think they would have been better off just making an SNK Classics collection for consoles, which I thought they already did but i am not sure.
I don't know about the neo geo or at least this console. I mean I love KoF, Samurai Showdown, and Garou but honestly for a 130 bucks for basically half of the games being Kof and Samurai showdown. I'm gonna have to pass this time around.
Yeah no, this won't work. Not only are my TV's 65" and 75" but I don't want to have an HDMI cord connected to the controller and have to fry my eyes out. I mean common Capcom, this is cool no doubt but I don't find this to be practical with modern day TV's.

Re: Hands On: Anbernic RG353P - Shamelessly Inspired By Nintendo
@Serpenterror Have you ever purchased an anbernic device? The dpad is far superior to even what nintendo has on their pro controller these days.

@sanderev what's wrong with that? Is Nintendo giving me an option to buy Mother 3?

Re: The Evercade Handheld's First Collection Of Retro-Style Indie Games Has Been Revealed
This is actually a cool concept and it would be a viable concept. But the switch just makes this device obsolete
