I received the first Ace Attorney as a gift for Christmas in December 2005. I still vividly remember playing through the first case and being hooked instantly by the unique gameplay, setting, music, and characters. Great article, thanks!
I believe the Virtual Boy absolutely was ahead of its time from the standpoint of attempting to release a mass market VR console, even more so when you understand all of the features Yokoi wanted to include such as making the unit head mounted glasses-esque and including AR types of functionality. Thanks for this interesting piece!
