Spyro & Crash

Is your gaming shelf calling out for some new dust collectors? Then you might be excited by the following news.

Youtooz, the toy manufacturer (which our friends over at Push Square like to refer to as purveyors of "plastic tat"), has just announced two new "retro"-themed vinyl figures based on the '90s platforming icons Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, which are set to go on pre-order later this week (October 16th) (thanks, GoNintendo!)

Both of these figures look to be based on how the characters appear in their respective box art for their original PlayStation games (hence the "retro" label), and will cost approximately $30 (or $40 for versions that include a 2-inch pin).

As stated on their respective store pages, both figures will ship worldwide, but won't be delivered straight away. Instead, those who pre-order one (or both) of the figures will have to wait until May 10th to June 10th 2027 (at the earliest) to get their hands on them, which understandably might put some people off making the leap.

Each figure is only a few inches tall — the Crash figure measures 4.4 inches, while the Spyro figure is 3.3 inches — and comes in packaging showing a CRT-inspired image of the respective characters on the side, with patterns of "fruits, masks and boxes" and "gems, eggs and crystal dragons" covering their orange and purple interiors.

Here's a closer look at the digital prototype:
