The Evercade range has seen some pretty amazing cartridges recently, but none of them have sold in the kind of numbers required to break into the UK top 40 chart – until now.

According to the official chart compiled by GfK, the recent Team17 Collection has managed to rack up so many sales that it has made it into the top 40 physical game releases sold in the UK this week – even outperforming Team17's other physical release, Killer Frequency, which launched on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch but failed to make the chart.

The Team17 Collection includes the following games:

  • Arcade Pool
  • Alien Breed
  • Alien Breed 2
  • Alien Breed: Tower Assault
  • ATR: All Terrain Racing
  • Body Blows
  • Full Contact
  • Kingpin: Arcade Sports Series Bowling
  • Project X: Special Edition '93
  • Qwak

That's a pretty impressive achievement when you consider the Evercade install base is going to be much, much smaller than that of Switch, PS5 and Xbox, and it certainly bodes well for the future of the platform.

In case you didn't know, Evercade is a family of systems focused on retro titles. We've had the Evercade handheld, Evercade VS and Evercade EXP so far. Games come on physical carts, which have covered the libraries of companies such as Atari, Intellivision, Irem, Toaplan, The Bitmap Brothers and Codemasters.
