Re: Playing The CeX Retro Lottery

Prices at CEX for popular and newer products tend to reflect the trade-in value, so if you trade things in then use the credit the price will be reasonable, whereas buying cash means prices seem high.

With CEX it works well to keep an eye on what's available and don't necessarily buy when prices are high. It can be fun to see what they have that day and then check a few weeks or a month later to see if stock and prices change.

Personally I have always had good experiences at CEX and only once had to take an Xbox controller back to exchange it and staff were nice.

This article was a great overview while coming across as a bit generous to the fandom of FromSoftware games (in my opinion).

Elden Ring was my first souls game and after loving that I went back through the other games and could only really recommend that and Bloodborne as consistently good experiences.

I don't feel the difficulty of other FromSoft games' is inherently too hard but the unexplained game mechanics, grinding for items, and lack of save points (especially before boss rooms), make it a very time consuming and frustrating experience for many players who aren't die hard souls fans.

Please cover mods and run hacks for retro gaming - there are many that add quality of life features and bugfixes that are well worth checking out. Super Metroid is a good example if this.
