@ShadowofTwilight22 Sega makes some great games, but they also make some puzzling-ly bad games and choices in the same series as well. It doesn't really apply here because Sega never made any Shining games, only published them, but your points are weak in reference to Saturn (AtlanteanMan) because he was right. His point was the leadership was inept (which is well documented) and the Sonic series is a great example of that. Sales on Saturn aren't a great metric because they sabotaged the Saturn (again documentaries aplenty on YouTube).
You can be a fanboy but the facts are the Sonic games went from Amazing to mediocre/bad now. It is beyond ignorance at this point. Sonic games are so often flops and they have at least 1 very bad game for every good one in totality (and that is being kind). I mean the series hit an all time low in rating and sales with Boom. Forces recovered slightly in sales, but still couldn’t break a million.
(2006)/Lost World/Unleashed/Boom/Forces are all objectively trash games. You can argue that is hating on Sonic, but when everyone agrees that you are wrong, you lost that debate.
Everyone wants Sonic to be good and sometimes gems can be found, like Mania (fan made). But the series is all but dead to most people because Team Sega is lost and hasn’t made an amazing Sonic game in well over a decade, only good at best (Colors/Generations). Even though Mania outsold Boom, they continue to ignore that formula and latch onto make your own sonic metrics and claim Forces performed strongly, which is not good wording. Even Sega has lost faith in Sonic but it is their own fault.
Sad to see the series continue without Camelot Software . The studio that made the games magic to begin with. Especially because this is obviously a remake of the First/Second game? Similar characters at least, will keep track of this until they announce it will use random character chests or other F2P trash like Genshin Impact.
