I was almost tearing my hair out from all the cart swapping with the system powered on! I don't think I ever tried it back in the day, wasn't the recommendation that the system be turned off to do this? Someone mentioned the original GB had a cartridge lock but I guess it must have been safe as later models had no cart lock.
