Ah the old "Tell me you have no idea where video games came from without telling me that you have no idea where video games came from". Japan and the UK were twinned centers of the gaming world. The French made some incredible games. And that's as far as my knowledge stretches and I know it's not nearly enough.
I mean, fine, yeah, really not interested in an emulator running on an ARM SoC. But I want legal access to running their consoles' back catalogue on modern devices like my Xbox thanks. Like that 3D zombie scrolling beat em up. And the 3D fighter where you collect the gems to power up and it says "OH NO!" lots.
@-wc- I can think of one change that definitely should have been. Back when I was graduating in 2001, companies would visit the campus to talk to potential employees. One such company was Imagination/PowerVR, who's GPU was in the Dreamcast as well as doing a lot of the design work for the internals. Rather than the GD-ROM they begged Sega to use a DVD-ROM so it could also play the upcoming DVD format, that people would buy one just to have a DVD player. Sega stood firm, rampant piracy on the Saturn had them spooked so they went with their proprietary 1GB disks.
And sadly we moved into the "Bad Ending" universe... 😖😣😩😮💨
