Sega's arcade division has teased a new entry in the House of the Dead series.

As spotted by Arcade Heroes, Sega Amusements posted a 30-second teaser for a new game to be announced at the upcoming IAAPA 2026, which takes place in November.

The gothic trailer showed two guns that, according to Arcade Heroes, were also used in the 2022 coin-op VR Agent, a collaboration between Sega and 3MindWave. The site also says it has confirmed the game will use VR tech.

Arcade Heroes did some more digging and found that Sega Amusements’ official website has a page for House of the Dead Reawakened. The site also notes that Attractions Magazine has referenced the game's title and stated that it will be running on Unreal Engine 5.

Sega's light gun series kicked off all the way back in 1997. Since then, it has received four arcade sequels, with the most recent entry being 2018's House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn.

We've also seen console-exclusive spin-offs, such as House of the Dead: Overkill and The Typing Of The Dead. The side-scrolling brawler Zombie Revenge is also considered to be part of the same series.

The series has also been adapted into two movies, and we've got another one on the horizon.
