This year saw the surprising news that Software Creations' cancelled Barbie game, Barbie: Vacation Adventure, would finally be getting a commercial release, after more than 30 years (as part of Digital Eclipse's Barbie Rewind collection).

Remarkably, though, it seems that this isn't the only cancelled title from the Plok! and Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball studios' expanded body of work destined for a release on modern platforms this year. That's because the publisher Ratalaika Games has just announced it will be bringing the developer's cancelled Excitebike-like game Moto X to Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC later this month on October 16th (thanks, comicbook.com!)

Originally scheduled for release on the SNES in 1994, Moto-X was being made for the publisher Trimark Interactive (a subdivision of Trimark Pictures) and, according to Games That Weren't, was one of the first titles being developed by Ste Ruddy after setting up the new Software Creations studio in America. However, Trimark eventually canned it after losing interest in console games, preferring to put their energy into interactive movies (such as National Lampoon's Blind Date, yikes!).

Back in 2023, Piko Interactive did release a physical cartridge of the game for SNES, but to date, the game has never been released digitally — something that will inevitably change when it lands on a range of modern platforms for the very first time later this week.

Here's a description of what you can expect from this "new" release:

Ready, set, go! Six riders compete only one will win!

Revive the moto racing sipirit with this game, developed in 1994.

Compete against motorcycles of 250cc, 550cc, and 750cc in different tracks full of obstacles and the best riders.

Skills aren't going to be enough to win. Throughout the race you will find items that will give you power ups to help you beat your opponents. Use them to your advantage!

Compete against a friend in 2 player mode (split screen) and discover once and for all who is the best Moto X racer.

Features:
* 3 skill levels
* Each level has five different tracks and a bonus level
* Power ups
* Up to 2 players in local multiplayer

If you want to own this strange bit of Super Nintendo history, it is reported to cost $5.99.
