Hollywood legend Tim Curry has passed away at the age of 80, we're sad to report.
The award-winning star of stage and screen rose to fame off the back of his portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the musical The Rocky Horror Show. He would reprise the role in the 1975 movie adaptation.
Curry's glittering career led him to roles in movies such as Annie (1982), Legend (1985), Clue (1985), Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), and The Three Musketeers (1993). On the set of the latter, he was famously photographed holding his beloved Game Boy.
He also acted in numerous TV roles, with his portrayal of Pennywise in the miniseries It (1990) earning him considerable fame and praise.
Curry also contributed to video games, voicing the lead character in Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers (1993) and Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned (1999). He also lent his voice to Brütal Legend (2009) and Dragon Age: Origins (2009), and his live-action role in 2008's Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 has become a famous meme in recent years. Curry would also appear in the 1995 FMV title Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster as Dr. Frankenstein.
The Emmy-winning actor died on Tuesday night at his home in Los Angeles. He suffered a major stroke in 2012, which left him wheelchair-bound and suffering from mobility issues and memory loss.
