Nobuo Uematsu – the man behind some of the most iconic video game music of all time – is going to be attending Retromessa 2023, it has been confirmed.

Uematsu joined Square in 1986 and worked with Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, producing some of the most recognisable tunes in the series (his work on Final Fantasy VII is particularly lauded). In 2004, he left Square and established his own company and label, Dog Ear Records, but has continued to work on video game soundtracks for firms such as Square Enix and Sakaguchi's studio, Mistwalker.

Nobuo Uematsu is bringing his entire band to Retromessa 2023, and the concert will take place on Saturday, 19th August, at 6 PM. You can order tickets here.

Retromessa is the Nordics' largest retro fair and takes place between the 19th and 20th August, 2023 in Sandefjord, Norway. Also confirmed to be attending this year's event – which promises to be the largest one yet – are Wil Overton (Rare, Super Play), Jonathan Dunn (RoboCop) and David Wise (Rare).
