Atari recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with an excellent collection of games, and now it's back for more – but you'll need significantly deeper pockets to take part in this one.

The company has announced a new box set of 10 physical Atari 2600 / VCS cartridges, which will be limited to 100 units and will set you back a cool $999.99 (thanks, VGC).

"These limited edition Atari 2600 cartridges feature striking, reimagined artwork on the front label and an acrylic topper displaying the game’s title that lights up when inserted into the console," Atari says. "Each individual package is designed in a distinctive black box with a remastered version of the original key art. When all 10 cartridges are displayed together in a row they reveal the Atari 50th Anniversary logo on the spine."

The 10 games included are:

  • Adventure
  • Missile Command
  • Warlords
  • Super Breakout
  • Crystal Castles
  • Haunted House
  • Yars’ Revenge
  • Centipede
  • Asteroids
  • Gravitar

Each game will come in new-look packaging and comes with an enamel pin, sew-on patch and custom acrylic cartridge stand. These carts are designed to run on original VCS / 2600 hardware, and, as previously mentioned, the carts light up when the console is powered up.

Atari has recently sold these carts on their own for $100 a pop, but these have since sold out.

Atari's 'XP' line of physical cartridges has previously been hampered by production issues.
