The fact that Cannon Dancer (AKA Osman) is getting a domestic port for the first time ever is one of the best pieces of retro gaming news we've had this year – and we can finally reveal its price and release date, thanks to Nintendo.
The game's page on Nintendo's site has been updated (thanks, @gosokkyu) with a release date of January 19th 2023. We'd imagine the same date will apply to the PlayStation and Xbox releases. The game will cost $29.99 / €29,99 / £24.99.
Originally released in 1996, Cannon Dancer is the brainchild of Kouichi Yotsui, who also designed Strider during his time at Capcom. The game shares many similarities with that title but was not a success in arcades and wasn't ported to any domestic system at the time.
ININ Games has worked with Mitchell Cop to create this reissue, which is also getting a physical version.

I mean it's cool and all but damn, 30$?
Looks cool, but after my recent disappointment in "Elevator Action Returns" I grew a little cautious again about re-releases of old-school arcade-games. The difficulty in those can get extremely annoying, to say it gently. That can be okay if it's softened by a quick safe option for example and when it's a collection of multiple games. But for a stand-alone title, not to mention at a really pricey 30 bucks, this can prove more frustrating than enjoyable.
ININ have really soured arcade rereleases this generation for me with their pricing strategy. They make Hamster look reasonable charging $7.99 for Xevious.
I'm very interested in this, but seems way too much for what is likely a very short old arcade game. It's gonna be like 45 bucks with tax here in Canada. That's almost as much as Capcom Arcade Stadium.
ININ? So like $750 but half of the game will be missing and I’ll have to wait two years to get the special edition version which will be about $1,400?
