You do not pay all of your deductible on one ER visit in most cases. Looking at her Twitter, she seems to have been to doctors for exams and other procedures so her deductible should be at least close to paid. So then what is the GoFundMe covering? I'm not saying she is a scammer, but there are a ton of them out there.

If your deductible is $10,000, your insurance is trash.

@ElkinFencer10 your insurance is trash if an ER visit cost you $2,000. Or you went to an ER for something for which you should have went to urgent care or a family doctor to get treatment.

I have been to the ER many times and never got charged that much.

Yes, insurance is affordable. I know these facts. There is no falsehood there. If you can't afford insurance, do better. Government assistance is available for those that are unable to work. You obviously need to brush up on your facts about insurance.

And yes, I am very aware of how expensive surgery can be. Again, why doesn't she have insurance? It is affordable.

This is awesome, but definitely a little too large. AVI-8 watches also don't seem to hold their value, but this may fare different given the fact that it's a limited edition.

@Exerion76 this is insane thinking. Nobody needs to start a GoFundMe to afford an operation if they have a real job. Usually GoFundMe is to capitalize $$$. She has had a pretty lengthy and seemingly successful career so why is she begging for money? She should have a few thousand dollars in her bank account. She should have insurance. It's affordable even if it isn't offered by her employer. There is also government assistance. This doesn't, even for a second, make you go hmmm?

I wish her the best. Very sad that she lost her partner and now on top of it has her own terrifying battle.
