Hamster Corporation has offered a sneak peek at one of the titles heading to its Arcade Archives in November. As reported by Japanese outlet Famitsu, Taito's horizontally scrolling shmup Exzisus will launch November 5 on PlayStation, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

Released in 1987, amid a tidal wave of pew-pew arcade blasters, the frustratingly titled Exzisus puts players in the pilot seat of a giant mech suit, with the ability to, ahem, transform between human and ship configurations - Androids in A Guise.

The player utilises both forms' respective abilities to fend off waves of enemies attacking from all directions. Mechanical animals - definitely not Laserbeak and Ravage - can also join the fight to aid the player in battle. Four stages await, each with its own challenging boss battle. These encounters include a giant cybernetic scorpion, a coiled serpent, and a robot with really bad posture.

Exzisus has been previously made available via compilations such as the excellent PS2 Taito Legends series, so it can't really be called a rarity. But it's a pretty solid little shmup and lends further stock to Taito's stake in Catchiest Arcade Soundtrack Composer of the 1980s.

Exzisus launches on PlayStation, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch platforms on November 5.
