Nalua Studio has released a Steam demo of its adorably creepy Neo Geo release, Necro Pop, which is currently in development for PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Switch, as well as original Neo Geo AES and MVS hardware.
Described as an "arcadevania", Necro Pop follows the exploits of ghost gal Poppi, who is temporarily returned to corporeal form in order to save her phantom friends from a sinister force known as "The Gloam". As she traverses her native land of Ghostreach, Poppi will gain access to an array of spells, weaponry, and powers, giving her access to previously out-of-reach areas in true Metroidvania fashion.
The new demo allows players to get to grips with Poppi and her colourfully gloomy adventure for the very first time, exploring Ghostreach and doing battle with mutant flies, killer snails, skeletal spectres, and other horrors from The Gloam's armies. Additionally, Nalua notes that Necro Pop will be in attendance at Tokyo Game Show, which kicks off at Mukuharu Messe on September 17.

You can still pre-order physical copies of the Neo Geo edition over at the Terraonion store. While the Pro MVS Vengeance Hunter edition is now out of stock, other editions - including the standard AES and MVS versions - are still available.
In true Neo Geo fashion, the prices are a little bank-busting, with the AES and MVS standard editions starting at €349.00. But for those not looking to open the vault, Necro Pop will be available on other formats, for what is almost guaranteed to be a more accessible price point.
Neo Geo prices... The more things change, right?
Necro Pop is scheduled to release in 2027 for Neo Geo, PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
