Blaze Entertainment has just released a new deep-dive video showing the lengths the company went to bring Rare's Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie to its Evercade family of systems.
We've already experienced some of the improvements via the Rare Super Pocket handheld, which includes the first Banjo-Kazooie game. However, this new footage makes it clear that, when running the game on the Nexus, we're getting an experience a level above what Evercade players are used to.
The footage looks very sharp indeed, thanks to the fact that the Nexus has a higher-resolution display when compared with the existing Evercade EXP.
These two games have been designed from the ground up for the Evercade family of systems, as Blaze project manager Chris Deckard explains:
"These new ports were developed from the ground up for Evercade using the original code of the 64-bit console versions as a basis. We found a great balance between providing an experience that is authentic to how these games felt to play on their original release and incorporating some modern improvements to make them look and play better than ever before. We've been able to leverage the advances in game development and game design from the last 20-plus years to bring you the best official versions of Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie out there in 2026."
You can pre-order the Banjo-Kazooie double pack right now for £24.99 / £29.99 / $29.99. It's also included with the upcoming Everade Nexus handheld. It launches on October 30th, 2026.
