I thought it would be good to have a Gamecube discussion thread on the new site. I still have my original Gamecube and I've been looking at modding options for a while. I had decided upon the GC Loader + Carby until the recent Raspberry Pico announcement, now i'm reassessing. Keen to get any input on this or anything else Gamecube related...
The GameCube is on of my favorite Nintendo consoles if anything for the third party support. I remember walking into a Gamestop seeing Soul Calibur 2 playing on a GameCube and instantly I knew I had to have one. Ended up picking up a Platinum GameCube with SC2 that day. So many good memories with that system.
Anyone remember the GBA adapter for it? I remember playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals on the Cube with my friend and each of us hooking our GBA SP to it and using that as a controller. On the screen it displayed our characters stats and everything, I believe that you could even access your inventory on the GBA so as not to cover up the screen on the other player.
I miss my GC at times but I do have a Wii that can play GameCube games so I use that when I want to play a GameCube game.

@Tasuki I never had the GBA adapter, it would be great to have one now!!
My impression is that the Gamecube has been options to convert to HDMI, such as the Carby, does the Wii have any good options? I have a cheap Wii2HDMI converter, but it's not great.
@ralphdibny were the two four swords games (GBA and GC) linked? If the rumoured ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess happen then you'll be able to play every console Zelda game on the Switch apart from Four Swords, I don't know anything about that game.
@MarioBrickLayer I actually don't know tbh. I was under the impression that four swords (GBA) and four swords adventures (gcn) were two separate games. I've not played either so I can't confirm but that's what I thought.
I also thought that Four Swords Anniversary (DSi) was an updated version of the original GBA four swords
Actually Gamecube was not really my favorite console despite I have 12 Gamecube USA games so far. It has worse games library than PS2 in my opinion.
I didn't grow up by Gamecube games during my teenhood since I grew up by PS2 games when I was teen but I have a chance to taste Gamecube games for the first time in year 2017 with my Wii to play Gamecube games.
Btw, this is my Gamecube games so far.

Love the gamecube. Spent a lot of freshman year of undergrad working down my backlog. But I think I spent the most time playing fighting games on that system (and the snes) than anywhere else. Also my first decent sized library as I started working at GameStop freshman year.

@MarioBrickLayer I dont remember how my friend got the adapter, if it came with a game or he had to buy it separate. I just know that it worked on a few games the one I used most was Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. I believe it was also used to transfer Pokémon to Pokémon Stadium 2.

@HarmanSmith Yeah later versions of the Wii including the Wii mini removed the GameCube parts. Easiest way to tell if it can play GameCube games is if the side opens up and has the GameCube controller ports, you are good.

@Tasuki Are there better options, such as the Carby, for connecting a Gamecube to a modern TV via HDMI? I'm not aware of a product for the WII which is anywhere near as good...is that right?
