@PinballBuzzbro Great recommendations! I completely agree with Forgotten Lands. We've been playing off and on since it came out and my son has gone from tagging along as Waddle Dee to asking to be Kirby for certain parts of levels. I completely ignored Star Allies, but saying the other players have more freedom puts it on my radar.

Hadn't thought of Simpsons arcade. Other Konami beat-em-ups run on the Genesis mini, so it should work, too. And at 4-players, both kids can play at the same time.

I've been playing lots of Mario 64 Multiplayer Splitscreen (N64 romhack by Kaze Emanuar, to be found on RHDC) with a 4 year-old girl.
It is very forgiving for a young child. She can play, then watch then play again. She mostly likes to wander around. Early levels and water levels are the most fun.

@winstonsmith That is awesome! Had no idea co-op Mario64 existed. And I remember when my daughter was that age, she loved games where she could explore. Led to a few meltdowns because she wanted to go beyond where the devs had programmed, which is a hard concept for a 4yo to get. As a result, my friend actually bought me a switch with BotW and told me how to find Majora’s Mask in the game so she could freely explore without getting attacked.
