The Snapdragon 8 Elite is an absolute powerhouse for games. I'm playing Destiny: Rising on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with a GamSir G8 controller and its a very console like experience. The only problem I see with using a more up to date SoC is emulating PC games because you won't have the best aftermarket compatibility. The Turnip Mesa drivers for the SD 8 Gen 1 to 3 work really well and they aren't planning to support the SD 8 Elite for quite a while. It may be better to save money and go with an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 which the Turnip Mesa supports the Adreno 750 or the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 that has a similar GPU but is designed specifically for gaming.
