We get it. You loathe AI. You've made that so clear. But look at this headline compared to his actual statement. His is pensive and reasonable. Maybe "blasts" is a play on the BlastEm, but he certainly didn't blast it at all.
One reasonable answer to "what's the point?" is that now many more people - billions more - that had dreamed of creating software, games or emulator features but never been able to before now can. And that's incredible.
Coding absolutely stands apart from the creative (art, writing, audio etc) elements that generative AI is used for and even the 'trained on stolen source material' is much much weaker argument against AI coding than it is against the other forms.
I love the site. Looking forward to when AI coverage is either fairly balanced, or just far less frequent. Sent with sincerity and respect as I've been a reader of your work for a long long time.
