Square Enix has opened up pre-orders for a delightful and thoroughly unnecessary set of Final Fantasy Mini Melody TVs (or "MMTs"). The cute nostalgia tweakers are available exclusively through the Japanese Square Enix store, ahead of their 2027 release.
Before you hit that pre-order button, however, read on...
Standing just under three inches tall, Mini Melody TVs are cute, pocket-sized replications of classic CRT televisions, complete with cathode-ray light-up effects but without the screen radiation.
Each MMT features a still image pulled from one of the first six titles in Square's beloved Final Fantasy series. Hitting the power switch lights up the MMT, which then emits a classic FF theme in all its chiptune glory. Cute!
There are six Final Fantasy MMTs to collect, with each unit priced at ¥1,980 (roughly €12), not including shipping or any associated customs charges.
But here's the kicker: Square Enix is selling the Final Fantasy MMTs "Gacha-style", so you cannot choose which MMT you wish to purchase.
Additionally, Square is offering a six-pack of MMTs for ¥11,880 (roughly €64), but purchasing this set does not guarantee that you will receive the full range. So weigh up those odds before you splash out.

But if you're feelin' lucky, the Final Fantasy MMTs are now available for pre-order over on the Square Enix store, with an expected shipping date of January 2027.
