Retroid has released an image of the Pocket Duo and revealed that it will boast dual 120Hz OLED displays. Like the AYANEO Pocket DS, the top one has a 16:9 aspect ratio while the bottom display has a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Original Story []: Retroid Interactive has released a teaser trailer for an all-new handheld device: the Pocket Duo.
While the developer has remained tight-lipped about the Pocket Duo's details, the trailer focuses mostly on the new hardware's dual-screen technology, reminiscent of the phenomenally successful Nintendo DS.
Boasting "No Clips. No Cables", the short video offers a teasing glimpse of the seemingly all-in-one unit, clearly designed to replace the Retroid's Dual Screen Add-On peripheral with a more complete two-screen gaming experience.
But that's all we get in regard to the key details, as the Pocket Duo's size, price, release date, or processing power are still to be revealed.
The Retroid Pocket Duo will face some hefty competition when it chooses to enter the handheld market. Manufacturers Yoniq and Anbernic have already lifted the lid on their own dual-screen devices in the form of the Yoniq Duo and the Anbernic RG DS Plus, while AYN is well into its rollout of the AYN Thor. We also have the AYANEO Pocket DS at the upper end of the market, too.
It will be exciting to hear the first details from Retroid concerning its brand-new baby, and see if it holds an ace - whether in features, specifications, or price - to set it apart from its contemporaries.
