NIS America announced yesterday via a video on its YouTube channel that the arcade shoot 'em up Raiden III will be coming to modern consoles (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox) and Steam this Summer (as spotted by FusionRGamer).

Originally released in arcades back in 2005, and later ported to PS2 and PC, Raiden III was an arcade shoot-'em-up developed by the Japanese developer MOSS. This was the company that took over the development of the series after the original creator Seibu Kaihatsu closed its arcade division and switch to a licensing model.

This latest release will come out under the fancy new title, Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX. It will include the original game mode as anticipated, as well as bonus features including a choice between the standard and a remixed soundtrack, new customizable wallpapers, a Tate mode, and other additions too.

There are also physical editions on the way for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Pre-orders are now open for the Limited Edition, which costs $69.99. The Deluxe Edition is listed as coming soon. We'll try and keep you updated when that page is live and when a proper release date is confirmed.
