Update (Thu 23rd Feb, 2023 15:35 GMT): As spotted by @NShmups, Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX is now available on the eShop in Japan. That means if you can't wait and want to get the game before its official June 6th (US) and June 9th (Europe/Oceania) release dates, you can act now and get it early from Japanese storefronts! The same also goes for the PS4 and PS5 digital editions.

Original article (Fri 20th Jan, 2023 16:35 GMT): NIS America announced yesterday via a video on its YouTube channel that the arcade shoot 'em up Raiden III will be coming to modern consoles (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox) and Steam this Summer (as spotted by FusionRGamer).

Originally released in arcades back in 2005, and later ported to PS2 and PC, Raiden III was an arcade shoot-'em-up developed by the Japanese developer MOSS. This was the company that took over the development of the series after the original creator Seibu Kaihatsu closed its arcade division and switch to a licensing model.

This latest release will come out under the fancy new title, Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX. It will include the original game mode as anticipated, as well as bonus features including a choice between the standard and a remixed soundtrack, new customizable wallpapers, a Tate mode, and other additions too.

There are also physical editions on the way for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Pre-orders are now open for the Limited Edition (NIS America/NIS Europe), which will cost you $69.99 or £54.16. The Deluxe Edition, meanwhile, will set you back either $39.99 or £33.33 depending on where you live.
