A robot in disguise

Like any successful toy line, Transformers has seen its fair share of video game adaptations — earliest of which can be traced all the way back to the Famicom, the Japanese version of the NES.

However, this latest Transformers gaming crossover has "weird" written all over it. Manufactured by Takara Tomy Arts as part of its new NEXTA range of toys and models, Mega Drive Megatron is a new version of the despicable Decepticon leader who transforms into Sega's most successful home console (better known in North American as the Genesis). It's expected to launch in Japan this summer.

Mega, man!

This has got to be one of the most strange — yet downright amazing — collaborations we've seen in years, and as massive fans of both Transformers and the Mega Drive, we'd love to have this standing on our desk here in the Nintendo Life office. What about you?
