Capcom has released a new image song for Street Fighter 6 and it's a wonderful throwback for fans of the Street Fighter II animated movie (as spotted by DengekiOnline and FGC_daily).

'Itoshisa to Setsunasa to Kokoro Tsuyosa to' (or 'Longing and Sadness and Encouragement', as the track translates to), was the official theme song to the Street Fighter II 1994 anime film. It was the result of a collaboration between the Japanese composer and producer Tetsuya Komuro and the vocalist Ryōko Shinohara, and now, almost 28 years later, it seems that the pair have got together again.

For the release of Street Fighter 6, Shinohara has stepped back into the studio to provide a brand-new vocal for a freshly-released version of the song. You can compare the two different versions below as well as admire the original music video from 1994.

As for how to get this newer version, it is currently available on various streaming services, where it is accompanied by some incredible, new artwork from Capcom artist Chisato Mita. You can find the necessary links by clicking this link or simply search "恋しさと せつなさと 心強さと 2023" on Spotify or Apple Music. Street Fighter 6 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|Series S, and PC in 2023 and features a large number of Street Fighter II characters returning. That makes this new recording somewhat of a fitting tribute.
