Ahead of the release, Microids has also posted a brand-new launch trailer, giving us another look at the game and its reworked graphics.

Original article (Wed 31st Aug, 2022 11:00 BST):

Microids have unveiled a trailer for Mr. Nutz Studios' remake of the Data East platformer Joe & Mac - New Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja - planned for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. And with it comes the announcement of a tentative release date for November 2022 (as spotted by GoNintendo).

Strangely enough, after some digging, it seems like the project was first announced almost thirteen years ago, albeit under a different developer Golgoth Studios, with members of the team continuing work on the project after the studio quietly closed its doors in 2017.

This isn't the first instance of this either, as, in 2018, Microids also published Mr. Nutz Studios' Toki remake, which similarly began life at Golgoth Studios in 2009. Better late than never, we guess!

New Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja will boast reworked graphics and feature an arcade mode, as well as an extended story mode, boss rush, training mode, and even an option for speedrunners. Much like in the original game, you'll also be able to play cooperatively with a friend or family member.

The game will be available digitally and at retail, with a special T-Rex edition being planned with additional extras like a 3D keychain, sticker sheets, and a trading card. You can watch the trailer for the remake below:
